Colman is listed as the sire of Casanova ter Elzen. Colman is a monumental stallion who has already earned his stripes as a breeding stallion. Colman’s offspring is remarkably elastic and jumps with power and scope. He is one of the best breeding stallions of the last decades of Holsteiner breeding. His progeny has already collected more than 2.7 million euros in prize money and more than 145 of his descendants jump the 1.40 m classes and higher. L.B. Convall jumped with Philipp Weishaupt to the highest scaffold of the legendary circuit of Aachen and Spruce Meadows. Catwalk, Cooper, Con Dios III, Zapria and Contagio are also resonating names in the 5 * classes.

Casanova descends from line 242, which is one of the oldest and most influential lines of Holstein. Mother Edjufa, daughter of Zirocco Blue and the privileged and approved mare Jufa, received the star predicate at the mare inspection of Susteren with 80 points for her jumping abilities. She is a half-sister of Fair Winds, who jumped 1.60 m in America with Peter Leone. 

Granddam Jufa is a daughter of Ufa II, who also produced Pikeur Cannavaro (multi-winner in the S** class and of the 1.50 m level with Markus Brinkman), Cassini 6 (1.50 m with Uli Collee), the premium mare Coco Chanel and premium mare Bester Deerne, who is granddam of, among others, Balougraf and R-Lucy, who are both active in the 1.50 m level. Balougraf won the German Championship for Professional riders in 2019 under the saddle of Martin Sterzenbach. It was the third time that the duo earned their place in the top three of the championship, and for the third time the son of Baloubet du Rouet was the best horse in the finals with a change of rider. Daughter Ilka III is the granddam of Chrystal IV, who is competing at the 1.55 m level under Simone Wettstein. Ufa II's half-sister, Cerdita, is the dam of BMC Chicago, who has triumphed many times under the saddle of Jurgen Stenfert. 

The dam line 242 is very broad and very influential. It draws back to the progenitor mare Diastolchen. The line is responsible for horses like the approved stallions Joost, Ahorn, Liostro, Cosimo, Briscar, Merano, Alcatraz en Castellini, but also sport horses like Chamonix, Loro Piana’s Chiclana, Aristo Z,  Caresino, Cantatus B, Locarno, Merano, Lesanto, Arc de Triomphe VDL, Lancier, Taloubet VDL, Falsterbo VDL, Fontaine VDL, ...
